Flouncy Frocks

These designs were created to demonstrate how much fun your embroidery machine and Sashiko machine can have together!

Ruffles, flowers and fringe! This embellished set of dressed mannequins showcases 6 fancy dresses – all creatively decorated with needle felted silk fabrics, Sashiko fringe flipstitching, quilting or ruffles and dimensional silk flowers! The embroidery machine makes it easy to perfectly place the 3D design elements and secures the needle felted fabrics with a built in “netting” pattern. 

Don’t have a Baby Lock Sashiko or needle felting machine? No worries! You can use your regular sewing machine to sew purchased fringe or other fancy trim in place of the fringe and ruffles. Beads, buttons, ribbon rosettes or other sweet pretties make great additional accents.

These designs are approximately 6” x 10” each and require a hoop that will accommodate that size. There are eight designs in the collection. Five outfits are created to showcase either needle felting or Sashiko techniques. (These designs are easily converted to sewing machine or hand applied techniques; suggestions for such are included in the instructions.) Die-cut flower template designs – stitched in the hoop – are also included. One outfit is detailed with 3D embroidered flowers which are applied to the dress in the hoop during the embroidery process; the design for those flowers is also included.
