This set contains 3 “paper-pieced” free-standing watermelon slice designs and 3 blanket stitch appliqué free-standing watermelon slice designs. (For design sizes, see DETAILS below.) The paper-pieced designs are just like traditional foundation paper piecing except done very easily in the hoop! Backing fabric is added as the last step, and when turned right side out you’ll have a clean finished project ready to use. The blanket stitch appliqué designs are included in case paper-piecing isn’t your thing; they have one piece of red fabric (instead of three parts) and are finished exactly like the pieced ones with a turned, clean finished edge.
