Summer Shack

Everyone needs a summer shack to hide away in during those long, hot summer days – so let’s build one! (…with our embroidery machines, of course!)

This project is pieced, quilted and embroidered in the hoop! It is included in three styles – two without a border (sized 6” x 7.47” and 7.78” x 9.70”) and one with a border framing the quilt block (sized 9.41″ x 11.46″). The framed design includes steps to add the “frame” (faux binding) and backing fabric for a completely finished in-the-hoop project. Instructions for binding and backing the unframed Summer Shack designs are included in the PDF instructions—plus stabilizer and thread suggestions and other helpful tips.

The Summer Shack project in the last photo was quilted and embellished with “flip-stitched” trim on the Baby Lock Sashiko machine. (Evy skipped the embroidery details on the shack to make more room for her Sashiko to play!) The designs on either side of the shack are from the Beach Treasures design set.
