Zen Garden Treasure Tin

Price: $10.00

Treasure Tins
Pocket-sized and packed with fun for little ones!

These embroidery designs will create an embroidered diorama that fits inside an empty Altoids ® tin or any rectangular tin that is approximately 3 3/4” long, 2 3/8” wide, and 7/8” deep with a hinge on one long side. This project is super easy and fun to make! Simply stitch the scenic designs on felt, cut them out, and glue to the inside of a tin. An optional design for 3-D willow leaves (shown at the top left corner of our sample tin) is also included—that design should be stitched on fabric-type wash-away stabilizer. There’s a total of 4 embroidery designs in this diorama project. The following design formats are included: ART, EXP, HUS, JEF, PES, VIP & VP3. Complete step-by-step instructions are provided for the embroidery and construction of the tin.

The Zen Garden Treasure Tin features a waterfall, pond, and tiny pagoda inside a flower garden with blooming cherry trees. You may wish to add tiny figurines such as Japanese dolls, a lucky rabbit, fox, turtle, or swan. Or stack a few small, smooth river rocks here and there for added interest. And guess what?

We have ✨ KITS ✨ for this project which even include the tiny figurines – click HERE to find them!  (For tips on sourcing your own mini figurines, see DETAILS below.)

Tips for finding appropriately sized tiny figurines:
If you don’t wish to purchase a kit, you can visit Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or other craft/hobby stores and look for miniature figurines that are roughly 1” in size. The miniature figurines shown in our sample tin were found at www.amazon.com.  When ordering online, be sure to check the dimensions of the figurines to be sure they will fit inside the tin; if at least one dimension is smaller than 7/8” and the largest dimension is no more than 1 1/2”, they should work nicely.
