Portrait Frame Project

How easy is it to make a mini pillow? Super easy when you make it in the hoop with your embroidery machine! 

This project includes 2 sizes of a pretty stippled frame design that you can use to make mini pillows, table doilies, or mini wall hangings! (Instructions to make all three are provided in this document—including how to add couched yarn around the edge of the pillow to mimic piping.) The areas within the frame and outside of the frame are stippled separately so that you can use two different colors of thread to blend with the fabrics you choose. 

NOTE! The embroidery in the middle of the frame is not included. For our sample pillows, we added a design from the “Wen & Wren” collection – The Adventure Begins! Directions for adding a design of your choice inside the frame are included in the project instructions. 

The design files are sized 7.78″ x 7.78″ and 9.30″ x 9.30″. The frame within each one will hold a design as large as nearly 5” x 5.5”. Most designs sized for the 4×4 hoop will fit perfectly with room to spare. 

The following design formats are included: ART, EXP, HUS, JEF, PES, VIP and VP3.
