Sew buttonholes with your embroidery machine! It’s true that we all love the automatic buttonhole functions that modern sewing machines are equipped with, but there are some cases where it seems nearly impossible to get the result you want. The extra bulk of a seam that is too close to the place where a buttonhole needs to be can create havoc by causing the buttonhole to be uneven, shorter than intended, or just plain impossible to sew. Fortunately, your embroidery machine is the solution! Sew buttonholes in the hoop with perfect placement—no matter where they need to go!
This set contains buttonhole designs in eight sizes: 1/4“, 3/8“, 1/2“, 5/8“, 3/4“, 1“, 1 – 1/4“, and 1 – 1/2“. These designs follow the same formation as buttonholes that are made by regular sewing machines. In other words, these buttonhole designs are not simply satin stitch (zigzag) rectangles; instead, they have bar tacks at both ends and sew in just like your sewing machine would sew them!
The PDF tutorial provides directions for stabilizing the fabric and correctly positioning the buttonhole. While it is nice to have a machine with a camera or scanner function, it is not really necessary… the PDF includes step-by-step instructions on how to use simple onboard features such as the needle down/up button and the machine’s design positioning tools to achieve proper placement of the buttonhole designs.
NOTE – A “Buttonhole Sampler” design is also included in this set so that you can easily stitch out all the sizes at once and use it to test your buttons to determine which size buttonholes are needed for your project. 😉
