Pretty Pockets

Everything needs a pocket… and if it doesn’t have one, now you can add it on! These pretty pockets are quickly and easily made in the hoop. Simple sewing attaches them to your garment, tote bag, or whatever you have that needs a pocket.

This design set includes four styles of pockets in two sizes each—6.05” x 6.35” and 7.37” x 7.76”. (These sizes will fit most 6×10 and 8×8 / 8×12 hoops.) The quilted pocket is perfect for heavier garments or for use with additional dense designs and appliqués. The other pockets can also be fancied up with added embroideries, monograms, or names.

Step-by-step PDF instructions show you how to complete each pocket, including how to add other embroidery designs from your stash. You can sew the finished pocket onto your garment or other project with straight stitching OR any motif stitch with a “tooth” – such as a Blanket Stitch. The quilted pocket on our sample Pooh bag was attached using Blanket Stitching.
